Mihaela Užar is our permanent court interpreter and translator for Croatian, German and Slovenian. After graduating from the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana, she was appointed permanent court interpreter for Slovenian and German by the County Court in Rijeka. Mihaela gained her first professional translation experience working for a Slovenian translation agency. Later she started her own business and finally founded Verbalis d.o.o. in Rijeka.
Mihaela is not only organized and meticulous in her private life, but also makes sure that everything is top-notch in the business world, especially when it comes to translations. Interpreting, translating, correspondence with business partners, business trips, and project supervision as well as their successful implementation in Slovenian and German are just a few among her many responsibilities at Verbalis.
As translating requires a thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects and terminology as well as a keen linguistic intuition and attention to detail, Mihaela both offers and expects a high level of proficiency in the implementation of such projects. At the same time, she does not fail to maintain a relaxed and fun working environment and a friendly relationship with her colleagues and partners. Team meetings inevitably start with a cup of coffee and cookies.
Mihaela Užar is also an associate of the Law Office Primorac and collaborates with a number of public notaries and lawyers throughout Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. For the third year in a row, she takes great pleasure in tutoring students at Rijeka Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences majoring in Translatology, who are already gaining experience through internships at Verbalis. In her free time, Mihaela enjoys being with her family or doing voluntary work for the disadvantaged members of our society. When she is not volunteering, she is attending workshops and seminars for self-employed professionals, translators, and court interpreters.
